Jason Ankeny of allmusic gave it 2 out of 5 stars, expressing his dislike for Scott Ayers' writing style and calling Bliss Bloods contributions "negligible at best".[1] Piero Scaruffi reviewed the album more positively, giving it an 8 out of 10 and praising Ayers compositions for exploring "a vast territory, from Chrome to Pink Floyd, while retaining the format of the rock song". It would be placed at #11 on his "Best Industrial Albums of All Times" list as well as selecting it as the fourth best album of the year.[3][4]
